According to rules by the Central Government, the new Pay Commission is constituted every 10 years. Recently, the Central Government announced a major update to this regard: the 8th Pay Commission. Employees have begun speculating about soon government joint decisions concerning the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.

Well, a big update has been rolled out for the central employees. For the last few days, there is this urge among central employees since the formation of the 8th Pay Commission is on the verge of becoming a reality, according to the new announcement, according to which, now it is not going to be long before the 9th year completes for the 7th Pay Commission. Every ten years a new Pay Commission is created and only on the basis of salary and dearness allowance expert views, salary increase is observed. The employee’s assumption is now that it might be soon going to conceive some decision-making process regarding the issue of a new Pay Commission. It is believed that Finance Ministry might come up with some significant steps on it in the Union Budget 2025.
when was the 7th pay commission implemented-
Seventh Pay Commission was constituted by the Central Government in February 2014. This Pay Commission aimed to align salaries of central employees more closely to inflation. The 7th Pay Commission became effective from 1 January 2016.
The Finance Ministry’s reply
Not too long ago, in a session in Rajya Sabha, a question was proffered regarding the 8th Pay Commission. To this, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary declared that “the Central Government is, at this moment, not contemplating” forming the 8th Pay Commission. Employees do hope, however, that the government will take a decision on the 8th Pay Commission before the end of the decade of implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
